Thankfully, the little bearings didn't slip out of the box flaps or I'd have to return it. I haven't had a chance to use this yet, but the packaging certainly failed. My parts broke free and tumbled loosely in the larger shipping box with other things. I'd recommend not buying this online since the pkg is so poor. Online, you risk having your bit edge damaged.
Some of the snaps on my packaging failed during shipping, and all the bearings migrated to the main compartment with the bit, where they all bounced around together. As has already been said in the other reviews, this bit does a nice job producing clean rabbets. Even with functioning snaps, the packaging is bulky and weak, and unsuitable for much repeated use. I do fault it one star for poor packaging though. It comes in a folding plastic package that has separate compartments for the bit and each bearing, with press-fit `snaps' that are supposed to hold the package closed, keeping the parts isolated from each other. I don't have proper storage for my router bits yet, so I just use whatever packaging the bits come in, and everything has been fine until now. I consider Freud to be a premium brand, so I wasn't expecting something like this, even in the mundane area of packaging.
